If you’ve been missing that good ole sound of Motown, it was brought back to life at this year’s Mardi Gras Festival in Lafayette. The festival is held every year in the city. This year King Toussaint and the royal court visited Motown.
Motown, founded by Berry Gordy Jr. in 1958. To salute Motown, kids worked the runway dressed as Berry Gordy Jr., his Daughter Ronda Ross and her Mother Dianna Ross, Tina Marie, Rick James, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations.
The Lafayette Mardi Gras Festival, Inc. Parade floats will be rolling on Fed 28 with the Motown sound pumping loud from each float. This year’s royal court includes King Toussaint LʼOuverture LIX, Corey James Frank and Queen Suzanne Simonneʼ LIX Imani Lena Harvin. Check out over 140 photos from the gala.
