Wednesday, Aug 30, the Wright Brothers announced they will launch a new TV network in October 2017. The Press Conference was held in New York City at the Zype Building near Times Square. “We are smothered in excitement from many of our family and dear friends who know this hasn’t been an over night leap of Faith. My brothers and I have been filming since we were 13 years old,” said Ro Wright.
The Wright boys built a media company together called Eagle View Media Company. Their production and film projects will run through their very own network, Congo TV Network. Congo is scheduled to launch October 1. “This is a project that has been in preparation for a while. We were fortunate enough to have a group of investors who were interested in a longterm partnership with us and are willing to help us grow the brand,” said Kita Wright.
Gerald Wright brings extensive business management to the table having worked over 20 years as an Engineer for General Motors in Indianapolis, IN. Today, he is an Engineer for Walt Disney in Orlando, FL. Gerald is also the owner of Amps Magazine, a digital magazine which is franchised in several cities across America. “This has been a dream of ours since we were kids. It has taken a lot of sacrifice and hardwork to get to this point but we know the journey is truly just beginning,” said Gerald Wright.
They placed their first TV Show on local television when they were in the 9th grade. “My dad bought us cameras and an editing system and we started shooting our own shows. We sold advertisement to local businesses and secured airtime with the local channel,” said Kita Wright. He has groomed his talents to become one of the most highly recognized photographers and filmers in the country.
Ro, who studied Mass Communications at Southern University, started as a radio DJ when he was only 13 years old. He has been writing sceenplays, sitcoms, books, music, and television pilots all of his life. Currently, he pastors Metro Assembly of Faith Church in New Orleans, LA where he also has built a Black News platform (Black Boot News) which reaches more than 1.5 million viewers per month.
In 2013, the brothers joined together to produce the ‘Young & Married In New Orleans’ reality show. “When the opportunity presented itself we knew this was the opportunity we had been working toward for most of our life. We knew it was God. When it is God, you don’t stare at it… you move on it,” said Ro.
Eagle View Media Company is already filming a Reality Show, TV Drama Series, and preparation is being prepared to begin filming their first movie this Fall. As owners, they also consume various roles within their company. Kita Wright is the Chief Executive of Production and Technology. Gerald is the Chief Executive of Business Administration and Human Resources. Ro Wright will serve as the Chief Executive Director of Programming and Marketing.
The young men began their dreams of becoming writers and filmmakers when they studied Business and Mass Comunications through their childhood Boy Scout Troop 65 in Monroe, LA. Often, they filmed the scouting events and mini-movies out of the footage. Toady, all three of these men are Eagle Scouts (the highest rank in Scouting) and even though they are adult men with sons of their own… their experiences as children learning about business helped them become who they are.
Congo will be available on the Amazon Firestick Platform, Roku, Google Chromecast, Apple TV, Android TV, and 15 Smart TV devices. A subscription to the network will only cost viewers $5.99 per month. For more information, get updates at www.congotvnetwork.com.
